Rockwall, Texas, located 24 miles east of Dallas off of I-30, was first settled in 1851, known for being the smallest county in Texas. Got its name from the discovery of rock walls; as wells for water were dug, walls of rock were discovered underground that, at first glance, were thought to be man-made but were later determined to be a result of nature. Rockwall is located just northeast of Dallas across Lake Ray Hubbard and is easily accessible from both interstate 30 and the DART light rail blue line.
